How to Fix an iPhone Safari App Paralyzed by Facebook Scam Spam

The other day my wife was using her iPhone Safari browser and she received what was definitely a fake Facebook prize notice. We didn't want to click on anything so we tried to close the window and restart Safari. But Spam can be a persistent bugger and upon opening the app, the same screen presented itself.

I'm not sure what would have happened if we clicked through as the page was requesting, but I don't imagine it would have been a good thing. Still, because the obvious method of getting rid of the page didn't work, we were tempted.

Instead, use the EZPZ method below to get rid of the Spam pop-up.

1. Double press the home button and swipe upward on frozen Safari screen.

2. Click on the Settings icon on your Home page(s).

3. In your Settings, swipe up until you see Safari.

4. Click on Safari.

5. Click "Clear History and Website Data"

6. Click "Clear History and Data"

Voila! Now you can open the app again and the pop-up should be vanquished.

The Riddle of Streaming

I'm a bit of a streaming junkie. Never met a Chromecast I didn't like. And the Roku interface is like that old friend that you can always reconnect with and pick up again like it was yesterday. These days, streaming Netflix is our main poison of choice, with an occassional dalliance with HBO Now.

Every once in a while, the Netflix app on our Roku stops working. It's a strange error in that when you type in your username and password, it still won't connect you. At first you believe it is your data entry mistake, so you try it over and over until you feel like this guy...

As it turns out, you are not doing anything wrong. It's a glitch!

I discovered the fix the first time this happened, but I sometime forget it by the next time it happens. So here, for my recollection and your free IT support, is the fix for this glitch.

EZPZ Roku Netflix fix

1. Delete the Netflix app from your Roku.

2. Reinstall the Netflix app.

3. Enter your username and password and voila, let the binging begin!

Compliments of Conan, some background music for you while you vanquish this streaming riddle...

Macbook WiFi Not Working - "First Try!!!"

Chance are if you own a Macbook, you've had periodic WiFi connection problems. When we had problems I found lots of other people online with the same experience. The problem was, there are so many flavors of WiFI problems and a dizzying array of solutions - many of them scary technical. I don't want to be the guy that tries to fix the problem, only to make it worse.

The funny thing is, after many years of struggling with this, the best solution I've found is actually an EZPZ one. So I would humbly suggest if you are having problems, try this first.

It's easy, requires no money, and takes all of 1 minute or so. And now, without further ado:

EZPZ Macbook WiFi Connection Problem Solution
Step 1.  Turn off your laptop
Step 2. Turn off your cable modem
Step 3. Turn off your Wifi router
Step 4. Turn on your cable modem, wait for the green lights
Step 5. Turn on your Wifi router
Step 6. Turn on your laptop
Step 7. Check your connection and hopefully, enjoy a solid and stable signal again.

I hope this works for you, too!
